Research Interests

I am a Ph.D. candidate at Colorado State University working with Dr. Michael M. Bell , researching the mesoscale structure, evolution, and precipitation of tropical cyclones with ground-based and airborne radar data and numerical simulations. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, cooking and traveling. You can find more info about me here.

November 2022: Obtained the Ph.D. degree in Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University.

May to August 2022: Participated the PRECIP field campaign.

May 2022: Awarded the CSU Alumni Award.

April 2022: Received NCAR Advanced Study Program Postdoctoral Fellowship.

November 2021: Received the Shrake-Culler Scholarship.

October 2021: "Vertical Vortex Development in Hurricane Michael (2018) during Rapid Intensification" has been published in Monthly Weather Review.

August 2021: Received third place in Wagner Memorial Award competition.

August 2021: "Doppler Radar Analysis of the Eyewall Replacement Cycle of Hurricane Matthew (2016) in Vertical Wind Shear" has been published in Monthly Weather Review.

May 2021: "Comparison of Single Doppler and Multiple Doppler Wind Retrievals in Hurricane Matthew (2016)" has been published in Atmospheric Measurement Techniques.

September 2020: "Polygonal eyewall asymmetries during the rapid intensification of Hurricane Michael (2018)" was chosen as an Editors’ Highlight. Fewer than 2 percent of journal articles are featured this way.

August 2020: "Polygonal eyewall asymmetries during the rapid intensification of Hurricane Michael (2018)" has been published in Geophysical Research Letters.

June 2020: Awarded 2020 Taiwan Ministry of Education graduate fellowship.

September 2019: Presented work on "Polygonal eyewall asymmetries during the rapid intensification of Hurricane Michael (2018)" at the AMS 39th International Conference on Radar Meteorology in Nara, Japan.

September 2019: Passed my prelim!😊

August 2018: Continued Ph.D. at CSU with Dr. Michael M. Bell.
